The Communications Coordinator is responsible for working with the Executive Director and other staff and volunteers to oversee COAR’s public relations, manage its publicity materials, and foster enduring connections with diverse communities. This is an unpaid internship which provides training, mentorship and professional development. Academic credit can be arranged through your university.

COAR is seeking Leadership Staff to run its Reaching Higher! College Preparation Program for Refugee Youth. The Reaching Higher! Program (RH!) is tailored to meet the educational needs and obstacles faced by refugee youth as they seek a higher education. The program’s five-part series of monthly, full-day workshops bring together refugee high school students, volunteer mentors and educational resources to provide guidance and encouragement as the participants work to apply to community colleges and universities around the valley. There are currently five volunteer RH positions available: a RH Program Coordinator, Workshop Coordinator, Mentor Coordinator, Participant Coordinator and Alumni Coordinator. Individuals interested in more than one position are encouraged to include all positions in order of interest in their submitted cover letter. Descriptions of these positions are attached.
